Collectible WWII Vintage Jewelry Finds

When perusing flea markets or searching through scrap jewelry, keep an eye out for these collectible 1940's lucky little bells.  During World War II, the island of Capri, Italy was a destination for bomber pilots to layover.  Based on an ancient legend there, bells are emblems of luck and good fortune and were sold as souvenirs.  The pilots on leave in Capri often purchased these Lucky Bells of San Michele to be worn on their zippers or lapels as protection charms.  They can be found in different sizes and different metals including 800 silver, sterling silver and brass, and they make a pretty tinkling sound!
